Duncan Keith was handed down a stiff suspension of five games for the careless and dangerous elbow that he threw at Daniel Sedin. Some thought he deserved more and bring up the 8 games that James Wisniewski was suspended for a pre-season elbow. That's actually a really good point, especially when you consider how much time Daniel may be forced to miss. I'm sure the fans over in Vancouver were hoping for at least 10 games.

Nicklas Lidstrom skated hard for a fifth straight day yesterday, but says he's unsure if he'll play tonight. It depends on how he feels after the morning skate.

Jimmy Howard won't play today and it sounds like he'll take at least one and potentially two more games off. Great. Just great.

Niklas Backstrom didn't travel with the team so he won't be playing tonight or tomorrow.

Jonathan Toews didn't skate in practice yesterday so that's disconcerting.

Clarke MacArthur sat out of last night's game with a UBI. He's considered day to day.

Carlo Colaiacovo left Thursday night's game with a LBI but he's expected to be fine.

Travis Zajac was thought to be returning last night against the Maple Leafs but he didn't give it a go. He's now hopeful for a return tomorrow.

Tomas Kaberle missed another game last night with a UBI. He's been practicing without his teammates, but he won't play this weekend.

Taylor Hall didn't skate Thursday or yesterday so it looks like he's not ready to return anytime soon.

Mats Zuccarello used his wrist to block a shot last night, but unfortunately it came up fractured and now he'll be out indefinitely.

Joel Ward sat out last night with a LBI.

The Jets' Eric Fehr (UBI) and Nik Antropov (LBI) both missed last night's game.

Shawn Horcoff left last night's game with a back injury. No word on how long he'll be out.

Returning to action from the injured last night: Jason Spezza, Alexander Semin & Craig Anderson.
