Not much going on last night with only two games on tap, but Thomas Vanek owners went home happy as Vanek took nine shots and finished 1+1=2. He started the year red hot with ten goals in his first 14 games, but has managed only 13 goals in the 40 games since.
Christian Ehrhoff's year has been up and down too, but with two assists last night he is 1+7=8 over his last nine games and with a strong finish could still salvage a 40 point season despite missing a few weeks back in January.
Jason Pominville got the OT winner on a beauty one-timer and with 1+1=2 last night he's on pace for 29+45=74 and 224 SOG.
Jamie McBain had an assist last night and has 7+17=24 in 61 games this year.. So at least he's not regressing in terms of points (7+23=30 last year), but, um, two PIM in 61 games? That's just atrocious.
Ryan Miller remains on a huge roll with his 7th win in nine games and he's sporting a 1.65 GAA and .949 SV% over that span. Nice.
Jordan Staal had the fantasy line of the night with 1+1=2, plus-2, two PIM and four SOG, and over 82 games his stats this year prorate to 39+25=64 with 53 PIM and 193 SOG. He's making the most of his opportunities with a Stamkos-esque shooting% of 20.4%.
EDIT:thanks to Team Barlie for pointing out in the comments that Pascal Dupuis actually had a slightly better line of the night with 2+1=3, plus-2, GWG, and four shots.
The Lupul-less Phil Kessel played on a line with Tyler Bozak and Matt Frattin last night, and Kessel potted his 34th of the year in a losing cause.
