Wednesday's Injury Updates - Gonchar, Clarkson, Briere...

New, 1 comment

Sergei Gonchar missed last night's game due to a LBI, which may have simply been a chance to give him some rest. He is day-to-day.

No David Clarkson last night for the Devils, he has a LBI but it just sounds like a day-to-day thing.

Maybe I'm missing something but is Danny Briere really upset that Joe Vitale's intent was to hurt him on a clean check? So dude is skating up the ice and a guy catches him with a clean hit to the chest and he is upset cause the guy hit him too hard and hurt him???... my gawd.

Alright, this guy is officially cursed... Jacob Josefson suffered a broken wrist and is out for 4-6 weeks. That is three unrelated major injuries over his first two NHL seasons.

Steve Sullivan may have picked up a LBI last night as he was seen walking with a limp following the game. Also with the Penguins, Matt Niskanen had to leave the game early with an undisclosed injury.

Johnny Boychuk left last night's game with a LBI, he'll be re-evaluated today.

Corey Potter is out indefinitely with a concussion.

Nothing new here but for those of you that have been injured by Matt Duchene's crappy season you'll be glad to know that he has been playing through pain and is still dealing with ankle & knee injuries, so at least he has an excuse.

Jonathan Toews (concussion) has been cleared to return to the lineup and should be good to go on Thursday.

Returning to action from the injured list last night: Nathan Gerbe, Jonas Gustavsson (backup), Steve Mason (backup), James Wisniewski & Ilya Bryzgalov.
