Top 100 Prospects: Forwards

Greetings Dynasty Leaguers!

For those of us in dynasty leagues, we know they are best: the most challenging, the most addicting, the most fun. I am in two, including our very own FHS "Ultimate Dynasty League," and because I am constantly ranking and re-evaluating prospects, I created this "Top 100 Prospects" list.

When evaluating a prospect, the single most important factor is (drum roll, please) upside potential.
It is said so often, it sounds trite, but it's true.
If a prospect doesn''t pan out, that's okay. He can always be replaced, but the important thing is that when one does hit, he hits BIG. And to hit BIG, you need...upside potential.

Other criteria are important, too, however, and will be factored in as well including:
1. Probability of reaching full potential,
2. ETA to the NHL,
3. Flight risk (esp. those pesky Russians),
4. Track record of team/coaching staff in developing prospects.

That's a lot of factors. And they are constantly changing.
Because of this, all prospects come with significant risk. "You must choose, but choose wisely."

So, let's get to the lists...

The Top 100 Prospect list will include 50 Forwards, 25 Defencemen, and 25 Goaltenders. Today, we will start with the Forwards.

NOTE: A "Prospect" is not strictly defined other than requiring that a player's rights be owned by an NHL franchise. Generally speaking, however, skaters on this list will have played in something less than a full season in the NHL and goalies will have 25 GP or less in the NHL. Rankings are, of course, subjective and determined with a player's current trade value in pools in mind.
