A fantasized look at some NHL injury news.

Enemy #1: Max Pacioretty's recently removed appendix.

Well, Max Pacioretty's appendix picked a great time to act up. He needed emergency surgery to remove it. The initial diagnosis is 3-4 weeks, but I seem to remember some NHL'ers coming back within two weeks from this surgery so we'll hope for the best.

Patric Hornqvist suffered a LBI last night and had to leave the game. He's day to day.

Jaromir Jagr didn't play last night as he's suffering from a stiff back but he's declared himself probable for tomorrow night's game.

Gabriel Landeskog got absolutely lit up by Brad Stuart yesterday and was seen limping off the ice to the locker room, but dude is a gamer and he came back to play.

Cam Atkinson was placed on injured reserve with an LBI. He's out 1-2 weeks.

Clarke MacArthur hurt his hand last night and left the game without returning. More on that as we get it.

Jared Spurgeon is still nursing a bum foot so he will not be in the lineup tonight.

Lubomir Visnovsky now has a return date of February 11, 2013.

After finally signing, Jamie Benn didn't get into last night's Stars game but I'd imagine he plays the next one.

Returning to the ice: Danny Briere, Jiri Hudler, Martin Hanzal
