Fantasy Hockey Injury News for Friday

A fantasized look at the NHL injury news on Friday morning

Tom Szczerbowski-USA TODAY Sport

This could be serious... James Reimer left last night's game within the first minute after taking a knee to the head.  He has a bad history of concussions and at the very least I'd guess that he has a sore neck.  He'll be evaulated again today but this looks like one that could linger for a while.

Niklas Kronwall left last night's game via stretcher after being plastered from behind by Cody McLeod.  The Red Wings were quick to say that he has a concussion and let's just be thankful that it wasn't worse as that was a bad one.  He's out indefinitely.

Kimmo Timonen left last night's game with a LBI and couldn't return.  He'll be re-evaluated today.

Ryan Callahan was just starting to roll after offseason shoulder surgery but now his thumbs are breaking down.  He'll be out 3-4 weeks with a busted digit.

Finally some clarity on Max Pacioretty's injury... he's out three weeks due to a strained hammy.

No disrespect to anyone else mentioned in this update, but the following is what we all came here to see... Evander Kane's leg injury is not considered serious!!!... and he's only listed as day-to-day!!!  It's even possible that he plays tonight!!!... please exhale.

Bryan Little (undisclosed) is also banged up for the Jets and is listed as day-to-day.

Not sure what strain of flu Marian Gaborik has contracted. Bird? Swine? Rhino? Not sure.  But it must be bad as he's been skipping practice all week and couldn't go in last night's game. Let's just hope he doesn't injury himself trying to fight it off.

Martin St. Louis & Tim Thomas were both able to return to action last night and Jimmy Howard & Niklas Backstrom were both healthy enough to sit on the bench, so they should be seeing action soon.
