A fantasized look at the NHL injury news on Saturday morning

Marianne Helm

Concerning one here as Jacob Trouba took a spill into the boards face-first and had to be taken off on a stretcher.

He was released from the hospital last night and at the very least it didn't hurt his sense of humour...

We should find out more about the extent of his injuries today.

Mark Stuart also left the game early for the Jets with injured ribs. Hopefully it's not too serious. This gives Jay boy Grant Clitsome a real chance to step up (he played 27 minutes last night).

Let's go with some of the good news from Winnipeg as Evander Kane (leg) & Bryan Little (LBI) were both able to play last night and both saw over 20 minutes of ice-time.  Kane had a goal on four shots & four PIMs, cause that's what he does.

Viktor Fasth was held out of last night's game after picking up an LBI in practice on Thursday.  It's only minor so he's not expected to be out long.

Niklas Kronwall's concussion is being called "mild"... wow.  Detroit lists him as day-to-day but I'd go with indefinitely and we'll see how he does over the next few days.

Sigh of relief for Leafs fans as James Reimer was able to practice yesterday and his head was feeling pretty clear. So both he & James van Riemsdyk (back spasms) may be able to play tonight.

No update on Kimmo Timonen's LBI but he wasn't able to practice yesterday.
