A fantasized look at the NHL injury news on Wednesday afternoon

Alex Ovechkin sat out today's practice with an UBI. The caps don't play again until Friday but no word yet if he will be ready to go by then. Adam Oates would not tip his hat either way although he did rule out any notion of it being concussion related. Keep an eye on the situation.

Teemu Selanne is out for the next 2 weeks after getting a stick to the face. He headed home for oral surgery.

David Perron sat out yesterday's game with an illness. He should be back in time for the Oilers next game.

Johan Franzen will not play tonight against the Canucks but he has been cleared to return Friday.

Jonas Brodin practiced with the team today and his status for Friday is unknown at this point.
