Wednesday's Injury Updates

A fantasized look at the NHL injury news for Wednesday

Kris Letang skated for 50 minutes today and will accompany the team on their road trip to Florida. He might not play on this trip but keep an eye on the situation regardless.

Rick Nash took an elbow to the head from Brad Stuart and all we know at this point is that he is suffering from concussion symptoms.

James Neal skated today before the teams regular practice but there was no indication if he will be making the road trip with the team or not.

Jason Spezza is listed as questionable for tonight’s game after practicing with the team on Tuesday.

Joffrey Lupul is said to have a bruised leg and is questionable to play Thursday.

Niklas Backstrom suffered a knee strain and is scheduled to be re-evaluated today. Josh harding is expected to start tomorrow against the Jets.

Tim Thomas suffered a groin pull during Tuesday’s game. Scott Clemmensen has been recalled at the expense of Drew Shore.

Mike Cammalleri seems to be taking longer then expected to heal and will not be in the lineup tonight.

Fedor Tyutin is not expected to play tomorrow but the weekend is looking good for a return. He is suffering from the dreaded LBI.

Sami Salo ….LOL. But no, in all seriousness he has been back in the lineup for the past 2 games. Fantrax still has the IR Flag on him but I couldn’t imagine why???

Charlie Coyle missed yesterday’s game with a sprained knee and is expected to miss the next 3-4 weeks.

For those of you in deeper leagues, current KHL resident Evgeny Kuznetsov is expected to miss the next 2 months with a shoulder injury. Not good for someone I was hoping would make the Russia squad in the 2014 Olympics.

Denis Grebeshkov is still day to day with a groin injury. Hang in there Grebeshkov owners (ok, just me) as he should be inserted into the lineup any day now!
