Fantasy Hockey Injury News for Friday

A fantasized look at some NHL injury news on a Friday morning.

Brace Hemmelgarn-USA TODAY Sport

Niklas Backstrom will not dress tonight as he's still dealing with the effects of the blow to the head he took from Nazem Kadri. Kadri received a three game suspension for his troubles.

Rick Nash (concussion) was at the Rangers' practice donning a yellow no contact jersey. He said he feels good but will not rush his return. It's going to be a few more weeks with him.

A couple of Canes, Cam Ward (LBI) and Jeff Skinner (UBI), look like they'll make their return to the lineup tonight.

Mike Green (LBI) seems improbable to play tonight as the Capitals recalled Tyson Strachan to take his place in the lineup.

Reports are saying that Ryan Getzlaf (UBI) may make his return tonight. Corey Perry was questionable to play last night with a case of the sniffles and ultimately did play. Let's hope Getz follows Perry's lead.

Patrik Elias (back) should be in the lineup for the Devils tonight after missing the previous six games.

Thomas Vanek is aiming for a return tomorrow night when the Islanders host the Red Wings.
