A fantasized look at the NHL injury news on Saturday morning

Joel Auerbach

OMG!!!... Radko Gudas left last night's game early after a fight with Luca Sbisa.  RaGu may have got popped, hard to tell but they say he's out with a UBI.  Bad news as this guy has been fantasy Norris material in formats that emphasize PIMs, hits & blocks.

Viktor Fasth was hurt (LBI) in the warm-up last night and had to give way to Jonas Hiller.  All Hiller did was post a 31 save shutout, so betchya Fasth feels pretty stupid now?  We should find out more about his injury shortly.

Francois Beauchemin missed last night's game and is out for a bit with a UBI.

Rookie Michael Bournival has been a nice surprise for the Habs and his fantasy owners this year but he may be slowed by a bruised foot suffered late in last night's game.  We'll see if he can gut it out tonight.

Not really a big Beau Bennett fan here, so not crushed that he left last night's game with a mystery injury.  He'll be re-evaluated today.

Reports say the Andrew MacDonald was "smacked on the hand" and had to leave last night's game.  He leads the league in blocks, so you'll have to find a replacement if he's out a while.

Brandon Dubinsky (foot) left the team and will return to lumbus for treatment.  James Wisniewski couldn't go either last night due to the influenza virus.  That hurts as both of these guys have been pretty solid for your fantasy squad this year.

The Jets are have a roughed-up back-end as Zach Bogosian was placed on IR and is week-to-week with his groin injury and Dustin Byfuglien is questionable after being "banged-up" on Thursday.  Byfuglien has six goals in his last six games, so he's kinda crucial, let's hope he plays. Mark Stuart should return today for the Jets.

No Tomas Kopecky for FLA last night, not sure how you'll cope with this one, he has a bum wrist and is day-to-day.

The Wings could get one or both or none of Stephen Weiss (groin) & Daniel Alfredsson (groin) back from injury tonight or tomorrow.

Jeff Carter (broken foot) returned to practice yesterday but is likely still a few days away.

Thomas Vanek returned last night after missing five with a UBI and he felt good potting a pair.

Also returning to action last night was Mike Green & Matt Calvert.
