Fantasy Hockey Injury News for Wednesday

A quick look at NHL injury news on Wednesday morning

Eric Hartline-USA TODAY Sports

Evgeni Malkin (Leg) has been rules out of the next two games but has already started skating on his own.

David Backes (UBI) will not play tomorrow and is considered day to day

Shane Doan did not accompany the team on their current 4 game road trip which means a return for their next home game on December 27th is more likely.

Brayden Schenn (neck) does not have a concussion which means he will be a game day decision on Thursday

Marek Mazanec (illness) returned to practice today so I would expect him to be back in time for tomorrow's game.

Tim Thomas (LBI) was activated from IR and should be ready to go by the weekend

Victor Hedman (LBI) should be ready to go tomorrow after missing the last six games with his injury

Jonathan Huberdeau (foot) is expected back tomorrow after missing a couple of games

Ryan Stanton was sent back to Vancouver to be evaluated after an ugly collison into the boards Tuesday night. The Canucks next home game is on Sunday and after that they do not play again until December 29th.

Michael Cammalleri is currently dealing with the flu and missed the game last night as a result. The Flames next play on Thursday so watch for him to be a game time decision.

Elias Lindholm is being loaned to Sweden for the World Juniors.

Deryk Engelland has been suspended 5 games for his illegal hit to the head on Justin Abdelk

Vincent Lecavalier according to Holmgren is still 2-3 weeks away from returning

Dalton Prout (UBI) is expected to miss the next 2 weeks of action

Ryan Clowe is hopeful to return to action on Friday

Tom Wilson has a hearing tomorrow for his hit on Schenn. It is a phone hearing which means he can only receive a maximum of 5 games for the hit. I say he gets 3 or 4.

Marian Gaborik is expected to return in time for Saturday's game
