A quick look at NHL injury news on Monday morning

As submitted by Tommer13:

Alexander Semin could return from his concussion sometime this week. He's missed his last eight games. He's always been injury prone throughout his career so this was a risk owners were fully aware of in drafting him.

Pavel Datsyuk is expected to play in Detroit's Tuesday tilt against Florida. Get him back in your lineups, pronto.

James Wisniewski will miss approximately a week with an upper body injury. Maybe this mystery injury has been the reason for his lack of production over the last five games.

Vincent Lecavalier has been put on injured reserve and will be out for three-to four weeks with a non-displaced fracture in his back.

Corey Crawford suffered a groin injury in yesterday's game against the Panthers. Consider him day to day for now and maybe look to Antti Raanta for short-term help.

Kimmo Timonen will miss tonight's contest with an UBI. He's day to day after being cross-checked by Jamie Benn.

Brooks Orpik has been placed on the injured reserve after being assaulted by Shawn Thornton.
