A fantasized look at the injury news on a Tuesday morning

USA TODAY Sports

Collective NOOOOOOOO from James Reimer owners as he left last night's game with what looked like a groin injury. The Leafs said after the game that it wasn't serious but they also said that last year before he sat for a few months so can they really be trusted? Ben Scrivens came in to preserve Reimer's win (his third in a row) by stopping 32 of 33.

What a tease... Jaroslav Halak was all ready to roll last night but then he re-aggravated his groin injury during the warm-up and had to hand off the duties to Elliott. Not sure if this will keep him out for a few days or another week.

More goaile news... Miikka Kiprusoff skated on his own yesterday and word is that he was doing it "gingerly", which doesn't sound like someone that is ready to return.

Erik Johnson left last night's game with a UBI after absorbing a hit... he'll be re-evaluated today.

UBI as well for Alec Martinez last night and his could be pretty serious as there is already talk of him being placed on IR.

Ryan Malone (LBI) hurt himself on Sunday while playing in a warm-up diving soccer game. It didn't seem serious but he's now been put on IR so he'll miss at least a week.

Marcus Johansson is day-to-day with a UBI... either that or he'll be a healthy scratch.

Mike Cammalleri (hip) is getting closer to returning but wasn't quite ready last night and sat out his third straight game.

A bad case of influenza that spanned from Denver to Philadelphia kept both John Mitchell & Sean Couturier out of their respective lineups last night.

The Jets expect to get Dustin Byfuglien back in the lineup tonight after he's missed the last five with a LBI.

The Wild's Jared Spurgeon (foot) could return tonight as well.
