A fantasized look at the injury news on Thursday morning

Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY Sports

Massive injury news that you've surely caught wind of as Erik Karlsson had his Achilles stomped on by Matt Cooke and that will likely mean the end of his season. Huge loss for the Sens and any fantasy GM that owns this guy, hard to suggest a replacement as he is one-of-a-kind.

Also with the Sens, Milan Michalek sat out last night's game with a LBI. Not sure on the extent but this guy isn't normally a model of perfect health so you never know what this could turn into.

Johan Franzen is day-to-day with a hip injury and, like Michalek, his injuries can be more serious than you think.

Dainius Zubrus is out 2-8 weeks after he has wrist surgery, we should get a tighter timeline post op.

Erik Johnson is out indefinitely with a head injury.

Jonas Hiller (LBI) took part in practice yesterday and could return as early as this weekend. Why the hell they would rush him back with Fasth owning the space is beyond me.

Mike Cammalleri returned last night after missing three games with a sore hip and he made up for lost time with a goal to match each game he missed. Actually let's give him the always rare fantasy line of the night by a returning player as he had 3+1=4, plus-3 & five shots. He had no goals and just eight shots in his first seven games this year.

Also returning to action from the injured list last night: Kris Letang & Matt Niskanen.
