A fantasized look at the NHL injury news on a Saturday morning

Justin K. Aller

The big news of the night was Evgeni Malkin taking a hard spill into the boards and it looked like he did a number on his neck... a little whiplash perhaps? He'll be re-evaluated today so best start your Hail Mary's and all that good stuff.

Kevin Bieksa had to excuse himself early last night as he tweaked his groin. Doesn't sound serious so hopefully he won't be out long.

Dave Bolland left last night's game as well... he's listed as day-to-day with a UBI.

The Sens say that Craig Anderson just has a minor ankle sprain and he'll miss a few days, at least. Sounds like he dodged a bullet there but let's see if this lingers before we plan the parade.

Michael Del Zotto is questionable for tonight's game due to a hip injury he picked up on Thursday.

Not an injury but Taylor Hall will miss the next two with a suspension.

The Blues have placed Vladimir Tarasenko on the IR with a concussion, so he's out indefinitely.

Hard to believe that Rick Nash (undisclosed) doesn't have a concussion as well as the Rangers have, again, ruled him out of tonight's game. He is reportedly feeling the affects of a hit he took nearly two weeks ago.

Kyle Quincey is officially day-to-day with his leg injury.

The Jets Zach Redmond is done for the season after taking that nasty gash to the leg.

Gabriel Landeskog has missed nearly a month with a concussion but he's been activated and should play today.

The Flames will decide today if Sven Baertschi (hip) is good to go after he took part in practice yesterday and ditto for the Habs with Brendan Gallagher (concussion).

The Coyotes are hoping to get all three of Matthew Lombardi, Radim Vrbata & Derek Morris back today.

Returning to action from the injured list last night: Marian Hossa, Brent Seabrook, Corey Crawford (back-up) & Daniel Carcillo.
