A fantasized look at some NHL injury news.

Russell LaBounty-USA TODAY Sports

Bad news for Ray Whitney owners - he is expected to miss 4-6 weeks with a broken foot.

Vincent Lecavalier took a shot off his left foot/ankle in the dying seconds o the Rangers Lightning game. More news may be available today; one to watch if you're in weekly H2H leagues.

Brendan Smith played only 2:46 before leaving the game after a Derek McKenzie hit. No word yet in the severity. Wings now have seven regulars out of the lineup.

Cam Fowler left last night's game after having his face smashed into the dasher by Jarret Stoll. Reports are no call from Shanahan so no discipline here.

Leave it to James Wisniewski to sustain three different injuries at the same time, but we just hope he'll be okay after sustaining a concussion, back and leg injuries last night in a collision with the boards.

Martin Erat missed Saturday's game after blocking a shot during practice. No word on how long he might be out.

Word is that Max Pacioretty may be back for today's game. Nothing concrete yet. UPDATE: As per Mike Benedicks, Patches is taking warm-ups and it looks like he's a go.

Returning from the IR or otherwise: Cody McCormick, Raffi Torres
