The fantasized NHL injury news on a Wednesday morning

Anne-Marie Sorvin-USA TODAY Sports

A couple of infrequent visitors to today's injury update...

The goalie with seven straight seasons with 70+ games, Miikka Kiprusoff, left last night's game at the end of the 2nd period with a LBI. He doesn't really have any injury history that we could even speculate this being related to, so we'll have to wait for the doctor's report after he is re-evaluated today.

Dan Girardi has missed a total of two games over the past six seasons so it was a bit of a shock to see him held out of last night's game with an undisclosed injury. The Rangers just said he was "banged up".

Christian Ehrhoff (undisclosed) missed last night's game but given that he was questionable as late as yesterday makes me think that this isn't that serious.

Whereas David Schlemko's injury is of the serious nature as his arm was seen in a sling on Monday night, so expect him to be out a while.

Erik Gudbranson has completed his conditioning stint in the AHL and is back up with the Panthers, he didn't play last night but should make his season debut shortly.

Returning to action from the injured list last night: Dan Boyle, Chris Kreider, Dave Bolland & Matt Calvert.
