Fantasy Hockey Injury News for Thursday

A fantasized look at some NHL injury news on a Thursday morning.

Debby Wong-USA TODAY Sports

T.J. Oshie will miss tonight's game with what's now being described as a rib cage injury. The Blues don't think the injury is very serious so Oshie isn't expected to miss much time.

Nick Bonino (sickness) was placed on IR but it was just to make some roster room. He should be back this weekend.

Kyle Palmieri (UBI) has been cleared to play and should be in the lineup for the next Ducks game.

Jimmy Howard had to sit out last night as he has a case of influenza. He should return soon.

Also dealing with the flu is Luke Schenn and he sat out last night's game as well.

Milan Hejduk (neck) practiced yesterday and will suit up tonight.

Jason Spezza is still experiencing stiffness in his back and reports are it's going to be at least another 4 weeks. It seems safe to drop him if you need that IR slot.

Jamie Benn (wrist) did not practice yesterday and looks doubtful to lace up the skates tonight.

Michael Ryder took a hit last night and had to come out of the game without returning. No word on his status as of now.

The Panthers placed Kris Versteeg on injured reserve with the knee injury he suffered Tuesday night. A timetable for his return is still unclear at this time.

Jason Zucker will be out indefinitely after suffering a concussion. In related news, Corey Perry was suspended 4 games for the hit that knocked Zucker out.

Michael Grabner suffered a shoulder injury and has been placed on injured reserve. The estimate is that he will miss 7-10 days.

Paul Gaustad will not play tonight as he's dealing with a UBI. He's listed as day-to-day. Teammate Patric Hornqvist (also dealing with a UBI) won't play tonight either nor this weekend.

Jim Slater is listed as week-to-week with a UBI.
