Fantasy Hockey Injury News for Monday

A fantasized look at some NHL injury news on a Monday morning.

USA TODAY Sports

Kris Letang left the game yesterday afternoon after suffering a LBI. There's no word on how long he'll be out but the rumors are that it isn't serious so hold your breath and hope for the best.

Evgeni Malkin (shoulder) skated yesterday but did not play for the Penguins. I'd anticipate he returns at some point this week.

David Krejci took a Johnny Boychuk slapshot right off his knee yesterday and had to be helped off the ice. He was seen walking without a brace after the game so he might not miss any games.

Tuomo Ruutu (hip) apparently might be ready to play as early as tonight. He was reportedly practicing on the second line. Wasn't he supposed to miss the entire season?

Milan Michalek (knee) will travel with the team to New York tomorrow which means he will likely suit up for that game.

Mike Green (groin) "may" play on Tuesday night which means that he won't so don't get your hopes up.

Not an injury but Miikka Kiprusoff will sit out tonight to be with his wife for the birth of their child.

Sad news here as Ed Jovanovski returned from injury but had to leave the game in the 2nd period. He'll be making an announcement regarding his injury today and there's some speculation that the announcement will be that he's retiring.

Returning to action from the injured: Mark Fistric, Ryan Jones, Ed Jovanovski
