Fantasy Hockey Injury News for Tuesday

A fantasized look at the injury news on a Tuesday morning

USA TODAY Sports

Owners of Marian Hossa are having their nerves put through a meat-grinder this season with a few scares. Here is the latest as he took an innocuous looking hit along the boards last night and had to leave the game. Some speculation was that it was an arm injury but others are suggesting it was... wait for it... a head injury.

Victor Hedman & Ryan Malone both left last night's game early after taking hits from Zac Rinaldo. Hedman's looked like a wrist injury and Malone's could have either been shoulder or head. We should get an update today.

Nothing really new on Kris Letang's latest LBI. Let us know if you hear anything and we'll do the same.

Amazingly David Krejci is just day-to-day after taking a clapper off his knee cap.

The official damage report on Kyle Quincey is that he is out 4-6 weeks with a fractured cheekbone... ouch.

Darren Helm (back) was on the road to recovering but reportedly suffered a setback in practice yesterday and is out again.

Miikka Kiprusoff remained in Calgary with his pregnant wife and word is he made his first glove save of the season (zing!) as she delivered a baby boy. So he missed last night's game but should be back on Thursday.

Great news here as one of my favourite prospects, Joey Hishon, has been cleared to play again after missing nearly two years due to a concussion. His return was supposed to be last night but that was delayed for reasons that I can't figure out right now.

Martin Brodeur was a full participant in practice yesterday and could ride pine as the backup tonight. He thinks he'll be ready to start on Thursday.

The expectation is that Andy McDonald (knee) will be back in the lineup tonight.

Returning to action from the injured list last night: Mikael Backlund, Jason Zucker & Martin Havlat.
