A fantasized look at the NHL action from Monday night

This is becoming Patrick Kane's world and we're all just living in it as he had 1+2=3 last night, his third trey in his past four games where he is 4+6=10, plus-7 with 14 shots. All the more impressive since he probably crushed 14 shots on St.Paddy's Day the day before.

Life is good for Hawks rookie Brandon Saad lately as he seems to have nailed down his spot L1 with Toews & Hossa and unsurprisingly has put up 1+10=11 & plus-8 over his last 10 games. He saw over 16 minutes in a game just once in his first 21 games this year but has exceeded that mark in each of his last seven games.

Ilya Bryzgalov looked pretty lost between the pipes last night and took the loss after giving up three goals on 26 shots. He has now given up 3+ goals in five of his last seven and sits with a some rather odorous numbers... 13-13-1, 2.79 & .898. And this isn't just a slight regression, this would be the worst sv% of his career unless he can turn it around.

I've been bashing Anders Lindback lately as it appeared that Tampa had lost confidence in him but he's quietly rebounded and hasn't given up more than two goals in any of his last six appearances (3-3-0, 1.97 & .935).

Jonathan Quick with a 27 save shutout of PHX last night, that was his first of the season and I'd suggest that he needed that but it still didn't bring his sv% to the north of the Lalime-line.

Tyler Toffoli with a PPG and an assist in his second NHL game as he lined up with Richards & Carter and saw some PP time.

Everyone's hero Jake Muzzin with a PPG last night, so that's 5+5=10 & plus-10 over his last 12 games.

OK, the real hero around here has been Matt Cullen as he drove another stake through jsuites soul with a goal & 11 FOWs last night. That gives him 1+9=10 over his last 10 games.

Mike Cammalleri started some slow this year with just 2A & six shots in his first six games but after another 2A last night he now has 9+11=20 & 47 shots in his last 18 games.

What nickname for Cody Eakin do you like better?... Death By Ginger or The Ginginator? He was particularly feisty last night by dropping the gloves with Iginla in the 1st period and then stoking the Flames by grazing Stajan in the 2nd. I like this kid so love to see it.

Hot damn! Another goal on four shots for the Sharks Matt Irwin last night, so he now has 4+2=6 & 24 shots over his last six games. It's time... I grabbed him in a league on Sunday.

Emerson Etem with a his first NHL goal last night and then a beauty feed to Getzlaf a few minutes later. So the kid is starting to gain some confidence.

SHG for Gabriel Landeskog last night and he has goals in three straight after starting the year with just two in his first 14.

If your team is in need of some PIMs, hits and just general badassery then look no further than Tampa's Radko Gudas. He had seven hits last night and while he's been pretty tame so far with only two PIMs in four games, he has over 200 PIMs in the AHL so far this year (57 games).

Another Tampa rookie, Ondrej Palat, scored last night and has goals in back-to-back games.

I wasn't full aware at the extent of Danny Briere's demise this season (despite owning him in one league) as he has no goals in his last 13 games and zilch with a minus-10 in his last seven games.

Corey Perry signed a mega-rich deal with the Ducks last night, so he'll be there forever but this likely means a lot of other guys won't be as there can't be much money left.

The Devils returned Stefan Matteau to the Q so that he can participate in the playoffs... while it's a bit of a curious move I guess it's better late than never that they did the right thing here.

Going the opposite way on the shuttle from Jr. is Morgan Rielly as his season with Moose Jaw is done and he'll join the Marlies this week.

NHL: Jordan Schroeder, Dmitry Orlov, Ryan Spooner & Taylor Beck

AHL: Gustav Nyquist
