Fantasy Hockey Injury News for Wednesday

A fantasized look at the NHL injury news on Wednesday morning

USA TODAY Sports

Thomas Vanek took a slapper off the hip region and while he tried to skate it off like a trooper he ended up exiting the game early. He's listed as day-to-day but that'll leave a mark.

Justin Faulk also left last night's game early with a LBI but we have no update on his status as of yet.

Great news for Ottawa: Marc Methot couldn't finish last night's game due to a LBI.

More great news for Ottawa: Milan Michalek had knee surgery Tuesday and is likely done for the season. There is a chance that he could return for the playoffs but I wouldn't count on it.

Meanwhile, the Pens get legitimate great news on Kris Letang as his LBI is not serious and he's just day-to-day.

Updates from Tampa: Victor Hedman (UBI) is listed as day-to-day but Ryan Malone is out indefinitely due to a shoulder injury. It's likely cut-bait time on Malone in what has been a lost season.

Almost forgot about this one... Vincent Lecavalier reportedly has a broken foot. Not sure if this changes the timeline where he was expected to be out for 3 weeks.

Zack Kassian returned last night after missing two games with a sore back and proceeded to go for a canoe ride (aka fight) with Chris Stewart. Kassian then left the game as his back was sore again.

Returning to action from the injured list last night: Andy McDonald, Radim Vrbata, Scottie Upshall & Brooks Laich (season debut).
