Fantasy Hockey Injury News for Friday

A fantasized look at some NHL injury news on a Friday morning.

USA TODAY Sports

Alex Ovechkin got hit in the face with the puck during yesterday's practice and was forced to get stitches. No word on if he'll miss any games due to the injury, but I doubt he will.

Nothing new here, but Thomas Vanek (muscle strain) had to sit out another game due to injury. He's day-to-day like he's been practically all season.

Keith Ballard sat out last night's game with a foot fracture. He's listed as day-to-day.

Ed Jovanovski (hip) will undergo season ending surgery and he may retire.

Blackhawks Patrick Sharp (shoulder) and Marian Hossa (UBI) won't play tonight.

Craig Anderson (ankle) won't play this weekend but has a shot at playing during the Senators' upcoming road trip.

Returning from the injured list: James Wisniewski, Evgeni Malkin, John-Michael Liles
