A fantasized look at the injury news on Sunday morning

Justin K. Aller

Evgeni Malkin seems to be making progress in his recovery from that nasty looking concussion as he's been skating and is apparently over the symptoms... good news!

The Pens were also missing Paul Martin last night as he's day-to-day with a LBI.

Thomas Vanek missed yesterday's game due to a UBI but it's not serious and he may even be able to play today.

Martin Havlat exited last night's game in the 3rd with an undisclosed injury... never a good sign as this guy is brittle like a stick of gum from a pack of 1983 O-Pee-Chee hockey cards.

Benoit Pouliot left last night's game early and had his arm in a sling afterwards so unless he's messing with us, I'd say he has an arm injury.

Kyle Palmieri took a blow to the face last night and had to leave the game early... the team said afterwards that he should be fine, just day-to-day.

The Panthers lost Jose Theodore due to a LBI and Coach Dineen said afterwards that "it's going to be a while" before he's back. Dmitry Kulikov also left the game early after falling awkwardly into the boards.

Mark Fistric missed Friday's game and is out due to an elbow injury... I apologize as this is no doubt related to the fact that I added him on Friday morning.

Taylor Hall is questionable to play tonight due to his hamstring injury.

Joni Pitkanen & Scottie Upshall both made brief returns from injuries as neither could finish their first game back. Both left with LBI's but not sure if it was something new or an aggravation of their previous LBI's

Alec Martinez (UBI) was activated off the IR but was held out of last night's game. He should return shortly.

Returning to action from the injured list last night: Kevin Bieksa.
