Fantasy Hockey Injury News for Thursday

A fantasized look at the NHL injury news on a Thursday morning.

Bruce Bennett

Brad Marchand had been white hot recently so of course he had to get injured. He took an Anton Volchenkov elbow to the head and had to leave the game. No official word on if it's a concussion but I'd expect him to miss at least a couple of games.

Sickness kept Cory Schneider from making the start last night, missing out on a gimme win over the Flames. That will hurt his Vezina hopes.

It sounds as if Chris Higgins will miss the rest of the regular season with the LBI he suffered.

Matt Stajan missed last night's game with a UBI. No timetable on how long he might miss.

Cam Fowler exited last night's tilt in the first period with a UBI. He did not return and is considered day-to-day.

Dan Ellis was a last minute scratch from Tuesday night's game with a LBI he suffered during the warmups. Not sure if he'll be back for tonight's game.

The news on Mike Fisher (hand) is that he'll miss at least the next two games. It's probably safe to drop him and look for a healthy option.

Returning to action from the injured list: Ryan Getzlaf, Curtis Glencross, Paul Stastny, Ales Hemsky, Zbynek Michalek
