Martin Erat was boarded last night and it did not look good. He may have managed two injuries on the same play. His head hit the boards and he looked to have tweaked something in his right leg. He was dazed as he was helped off and couldn't put any weight on the leg. No word is available on his status as of now.
Sounds like Henrik Zetterberg may have re-injured his groin and he's questionable to play today. The Red Wings recalled Riley Sheahan in anticipation of the potential scratch.
Good news on the Joffrey Lupul front as he passed his concussion tests and supposedly just has a stiff neck. He's actually on the ice for the morning skate as I write this.
Surprisingly, Alexander Semin had not sat out a game all season, but that came to an end last night as he was scratched with a UBI. It doesn't sound like he'll be out much more than the one game, however.
Curtis Glencross is dealing with a LBI and couldn't give it a go last night. There's no further info out there so just consider him day-to-day for now.
Kris Letang is dealing with a groin issue in addition to his broken toe so maybe he's isn't on the verge of returning any day now.
Silly Alexei Emelin tried to check Milan Lucic and bounced off him like a pinball. Emelin had to be helped to the locker room and was seen on crutches after the game. I'd say he's going to miss a few games.
A bad case of influenza kept Matt Moulson out of the lineup last night. The Islanders don't play again until Tuesday so I'd expect him to be fine by then.
Also missing last night's game with the flu was Lauri Korpikoski.
Craig Anderson is scheduled to make the start today against the lowly Panthers so get him in your lineups.
Make it six straight games for Thomas Vanek (UBI) as he'll be in the press box again tonight.
Returning to action: Mark Giordano, Tomas Plekanec, Dale Weise, Mason Raymond
