Fantasy Hockey Injury News for Friday

A fantasized look at some NHL injury news on a Friday morning.

Christian Petersen

Hold your breath here as Oliver Ekman-Larsson was injured on a dirty check from Derek MacKenzie. He had to leave the game with a UBI and is just being called day-to-day for now.

Ryan Callahan (knee) has been taken off IR and was practicing this morning on the Rangers' third line. Safe to say he's a good bet to play tonight.

Drew Stafford was forced from Thursday night's game with an upper body injury and did not return. No official updates on him yet this morning but the whispers are he could be out long term. That should halt the trade talks he was involved in.

Jaroslav Halak (illness) stayed home last night while Jake Allen backed up Brian Elliott. Allen was sent back down this morning so I guess that means Halak is good enough to at least be the backup tomorrow.

Dougie Hamilton returned to the lineup last night after missing almost a month with a lower body injury. He threw two hits and had one assist in about 18 minutes of playing time. Safe to say he's fine.

Neither Kris Letang (elbow) nor Evgeni Malkin (leg) will play tonight but they have both been skating so here's hoping there's not much more time until they return.
