Fantasy Hockey Injury News for Monday

A fantasized look at some NHL injury news on a Monday morning.

Thomas B. Shea

Chris Stewart RW BUF - Stewart's ankle injury will keep him out of the lineup for at least another week.

Zemgus Girgensons C BUF - Zemgus will also be out all week with an LBI. Zemgus doesn't have much value to fantasy hockey, but I just jump at an excuse to type Zemgus. Zemgus.

Ryan Murray D CLS - Murray will miss the rest of the FHL season following arthroscopic surgery on his knee.

Nikita Nikitin D CLS - Will be a game time decision tonight.

Kari Lehtonen G DAL - Remains day to day after getting steamrolled by Erik Haula on Saturday. Reports are saying he has a concussion. Tim Thomas will take over #1 duty until Lehtonen returns.

Jonas Gustavsson G DET - If you're wondering why the Red Wings went back to Jimmy Howard (13-15-5) yesterday when Gustavsson (15-4-0) is obviously the better choice...blame his groin. Gustavsson is nursing his groin again and is day-to-day.

Erik Gudbranson D FLA - Gudbranson left Sunday's game early after hurting his knee, but no details have been given on the extent of the injury.

Clarke MacArthur LW OTT - Good news for MacArthur owners this week. He doesn't need surgery on his injured hand and could return as early as this weekend.

Brian Gibbons C PIT - Bad news for owners who took a chance on the Penguins rookie. He's out with an LBI and the Penguins are leaning on Lee Stempniak and Marcel Goc to fill in on the top lines.

David Clarkson RW TOR - Clarkson missed Saturday's after pulling a leg muscle during morning skate. Consider him DTD.

Zack Kassian RW VAN - Kassian has two more games left on his suspension and should be back in the lineup for Friday's game against the Capitals.

And in the How Bad Can They Get column...Rostislav Klesla has decided that retiring from the NHL is preferable to playing in Buffalo.  I've been to Buffalo and I've seen their current roster.  Wise move.
