Phil Kessel needed an x-ray on his foot, but it looks like everything's okay, because Leafs coach Randy Carlyle said Kessel will suit up Tuesday against the Flames. If you haven't played the All-Kessel version of super addictive game 2048, you can play it here (you should probably be familiar with 2048 first).
Jason Spezza didn't dress Monday. He's listed as day-to-day and next plays on Wednesday against the Islanders.
The bruising Kings took a toll on the Wild. Nino Niederreiter took a huge hit in the first period and didn't return. No word on how long he'll be out. Mikael Granlund was hit in the third and he too left the game. Both injuries are of the "upper body" variety; Niederreiter's looked more serious. Good news for Charlie Coyle and Justin Fontaine owners, all four of them.
Darcy Kuemper suffered an upper-body injury in the pre-game skate, so Ilya Bryzgalov made his second straight start. Kuemper is day-to-day.
Jared Cowen sat out Monday with an LBI, but he may return Wednesday.
Nathan Horton will sit out Tuesday with an LBI, not that he's been doing much lately anyway.
