I'm in the second week of my 2 week playoff finale in the FHS Dynasty league. I barely squeeked out a narrow victory last week and will be in tough again this week to come out on top. Ryan Miller's shutout last night might just get me there but Sunday is a long time away. Many games between now and then. My last dosage of the year is next week and it will either be a happy dosage or a sad dosage. But we still have to get into last night's games first so let's get to it!
New Jersey Devils 2 vs Buffalo Sabres 3 (SO)
Tyler Ennis (2G, 4SOG, 3BS) snapped a 3 game pointless streak last night. He saw 23:22 TOI and the most PP time at 3:36. I think we're going to see a surge from Ennis next year in the neighborhood of 55-60 points
Need a boost in hits? Zemgus Girgensons had 9 last night which puts him on pace for 162 on the year.
Dainius Zubrus (1G, +1, 3SOG, 3 Hits) with his first goal since January 30th.
Nathan Lieuwen notches first NHL victory http://t.co/SBxmJgyCmJ

Attention poolies in leagues that count blocked shots - Adam Larsson has 8 of them in the 2 games he played since returning to the NHL.

Calgary Flames 2 vs Toronto Maple Leafs 3
Leafs win! Leafs win! Shout out to all my readers back east. Just remember, no matter how bad the Leafs have been recently, just imagine what fans in Vancouver have been going through this year
David Clarkson scores! (1G, 3SOG) on just 10:40TOI.
Dion Phaneuf had 24PIM!
Matt Stajan (1G, 1SOG, 2 Hits, 1BS) now has points in 4 straight games
Phil Kessel is now pointless in 3 games with 6SOG over that span
I have to feel sorry for the @MapleLeafs. They are the @LA of the NHL. Tabloids sell and the media there knows it! TO media lives neg media!

Florida Panthers 2 vs New York Islanders 4
Brad Boyes was questionable to start this game with back pain but he did suit up, only to leave after 3:17TOI with back spasms.
Josh Bailey (1G, 1A, +1, 2PIM, 4SOG) now has 4 points in as many games.
Mike Halmo (1G, +1, 3SOG, 2 Hits, 1BS) scored his first career goal last night in 13GP. He only received 13:22 TOI but also 2:09 PP time.
Speaking of inexperience in the Islanders lineup...Calvin de Haan (50GP), Matt Donovan (48GP), Ryan Strome (30GP), Anders Lee (17GP), Mike Halmo (13GP), Johan Sundstrom (8GP), Kevin Czuczman (6GP) and John Persson (3GP) for career totals. Crazy!
Erik Gudbranson with 17PIM last night giving him 114PIM in 60GP
Carolina Hurricanes 4 vs Pittsburgh Penguins 1
Seriously, what is with the Canes. Here they are taking down an elite team in the Penguins and I bet if they were playing the Islanders tomorrow they would lose 9-1. It's been that kind of year for them
Elias Lindholm (2G, +1, 5SOG, 1 Hit) showing some flash even though his year has been disappointing. Look for him to no doubt improve on this next year
Jeff Skinner (2A, +2, 2PIM, 2SOG) extended his point streak to 6 games with 4G and 3A over that span
Semin had the Flu and did not play. Obviously no regard for those of us in the playoffs needing his goals.
Sidney Crosby reaches 100 points on the year http://t.co/0JNzqOFHs1

Dallas Stars 4 vs Washington Capitals 0
Kari Lehtonen stopped all 35 shots he faced for the goose egg, his fourth of the year and 30th win
Alex Chiasson (3A, +3, 2PIM, 1 Hit) with a productive night if you happened to have him in your lineup
Dustin Jeffrey (2G, +3, 3SOG, 1BS) finding the back of the net for the first time this year in 27GP. Not bad for just 8:07 TOI
Ray Whitney (1G, 1A, +3, 3SOG, 1BS) showing he can still get it done at 41. I picked him up for my final week in my playoffs simply because of the PP time he receives
Oates: "If somehow we make the playoffs when we play like this, who are we kidding? We have to figure out a way to get better."

Tough to win one in a world with Crosby, but Seguin could challenge for an Art Ross one day

Colorado Avalanche 3 vs Columbus Blue Jackets 2 (OT)
Brandon Dubinsky (1A, 6SOG, 7 Hits) and Nick Foligno (1A, 7 Hits, 1BS) and Blake Comeau (1G, 5SOG, 3 Hits) stood out for me for the Blue Jackets last night filling up all the required cats nicely
Gabriel Landeskog (2G, 2SOG, 2 Hits) won this game in OT for the Avs and now has 5G and 2A in his last 4GP.
Gabriel Landeskog is 1st in COL/QUE franchise history to score tying goal w/ less than 5:00 to go in 3rd per. and then tally the OT winner.
— NHL Public Relations (@PR_NHL) April 2, 2014
Erik Johnson now has 1A in his last 6GP.
Nick Holden now has 2G and 2A in his last 6GP.
Brutal luck for Bobrovsky. Did everything right, didn't get rattled by BS on 1st two goals, big stops in OT on PK, victimized again on GWG.

Montreal Canadiens 1 vs Tampa Bay Lightning 3
The Montreal Canadiens clinched a playoff berth tonight after losses by the Capitals and Devils. http://t.co/vEiadJY9g7
— theScore (@theScore) April 2, 2014
Alex Killorn (1G, 7SOG) with 3:04 of PP time. He has a goal in 2 of his last 3 games
Ondrej Palat (2A, +1, 5SOG, 2BS) with 8:23 of PP time last night. This snapped a 3 game pointless streak for him as he is now up to 19G and 34A in 76GP.
Look for Douglas Murray to receive a lengthy suspension after elbowing Kostka to the head. He received a match penalty for the hit
Murray's match penalty for hit on Kostka carries an indefinite suspension pending a hearing. Montreal plays Ottawa on Friday.

Ryan Callahan 5th Power Play point in 14th GP w/ #TBLightning had 7 PP w/ #NYR in 45 GP @NHLfantasy
— Matt Sitkoff (@msitkoffNHL) April 2, 2014
Philadelphia Flyers 0 vs St. Louis Blues 1 (SO)
A goaltender battle here. Ray Emery stopped all 28 shots he faced while Ryan Miller stopped all 31 shots that came his way. He went on to stop both shots he faced in the shootout for the win
Brayden Schenn (3SOG, 2 Hits, 3BS) for those in multi-cat leagues and I guess Jaden Schwartz with 6SOG stood out for me for fantasy pursposes
Sean Couturier is now without a goal since March 1st, a stretch of 14 games
New York Rangers 3 vs Vancouver Canucks 1
Martin St. Louis (1G, 2SOG, 1BS) with his first goal as a ranger.
#TBLightning clinched playoff berth before Martin St. Louis scored his first goal with #NYR. Let that sink in.
— Pete Jensen (@NHLJensen) April 2, 2014
Henrik Lundqvist (34-35) looked great in this game. He is now 31-23-4 with a 2.41GAA and .919SV% and has won 6 of his last 7 starts.
Eddie Lack was ok in this game stopping 28-31. After starting the last 17 games in a row and with the Canucks done, look for Markstrom to finally maybe get a start here.
Winnipeg Jets 2 vs Phoenix Coyotes 1 (SO)
Ondrej Pavalec stopped 29-30 for the win. Pavalec reminds me of the Hurricanes play. One night he can be great but on other nights, you have to wonder how many times he hits the waiver wire in fantasy land.
Zbynek Michalek (1G, 4SOG, 2 Hits, 3BS) is no OLE but he helps out if your league counts blocked shots
Andrew Ladd (1G, 2SOG, 2BS) now has 22G and 29A in 75GP. He's a great depth option on your team and only 28 years old.
Edmonton Oilers 4 vs San Jose Sharks 5
Taylor Hall (1G, 2A), Jordan Eberle (1G, 2A) and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins (2G, 2A) led the way for the Oilers here. Get used to seeing that box score more often starting next year. Yeah that's right. I'm calling it now. The Oilers make the playoffs next year. Hall btw had 10SOG.
Brent Burns (1G, 1A, -1, 4PIM, 3SOG, 2 Hits) also had 7:01 PP TOI. After a down period, Burns now has 2G and 4A in his last 4GP
Dan Boyle (1G, 1A, +1, 2PIM, 4SOG, 1 Hit) and 9:23 PP TOI. Give Boyle a 5 game point streak with 3G and 3A
That's it for me this week. Feel free to comment on any player mentioned or not in the comments below! Don't forget to follow @TheScouts for regular updates or myself at @Pope604 for the random well spaced out thoughts. Good luck to those of you in Fantasy Playoffs!
